Joseph Giomboni, Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor of Communications, Social Media Production at Susquehanna University. He has taught communication theory and public relations and advertising research methods, website development and video editing, screenwriting, and sports statistics. He earned his doctorate from Klein College of Media and Communication at Temple University.

Dr. Giomboni’s research interests include digital and creative labor, internships, political economies of cultural production, crisis communication, and public relations theory. His dissertation is titled “Between Opportunity and Exploitation: Labor Expectations and Institutional Practices in the Public Relations Internship.” He received a Top Student Paper Award in the Public Relations Division of the National Communication Association and co-authored a review essay on crisis communication in the Journal of Communication.

As the Assistant Director of Public Relations at King’s College, Pennsylvania for 14 years, he managed social media platforms, wrote news releases and profiles, handled media relations, and edited video projects. He previously served as an assistant professor at Keystone College, teaching assistant at Temple University, and part-time instructor at King’s College.

About Me
